Australian Black Truffle

Premium Australian Black Truffle (Tuber Melanosporum)

Also known as Perigord truffle this is the famous winter truffle that foodies the world over delight in. Available only during winter from late June to late August this seasonally delicacy shouldn't be missed. 

Amount needed: 10 grams per person.

It is best to allow at least 10 grams per person when purchasing truffle however this will need to be adjusted depending on the dishes you use (ie. if you are infusing truffle as opposed to grating it on top). 

Shelf life: up to 14 days

Truffle slowly loses its flavour and intensity over time so it is best to use your truffle when it is fresh to get the most flavour. Truffles are still suitable for use up to 14 days after being received provided they are stored properly.

All truffles are sent via courrier. Most east coast Australian customers this means your order should be received the next day (for orders received by 9am). 

The truffles are sent with ice bricks in insluated packaging to ensure they stay as cool and fresh as possible during transit.

All truffles are sent with ice packs and in cold freight to ensure maximum freshness on arrival. 

When you receive your truffle it is important to unpack it and re-wrap it in a piece of paper towel before storeing it in an airtight container in the fridge. 

It is best to change the paper around the truffle every 1-2 days. It is possible your truffle may develop some surface mould. If it does gently wash your truffle under cold water, scubbing with a clean brush is optional. Then dry with a paper towel or cloth before wrapping in paper towel and placing back in the airtight container in the fridge. This surface mould is nothing to be concerned by. 

This truffle gift pack is provided the truffle season following your purchase although if requested the truffle hamper can be sent in advance. As truffle production varies from tree to tree and is unknowable until harvest it may not be possible to provide truffles from the actual tree with your plaque in which case truffles from another tree will be sent. 

The Australian black truffle season is July to August each year. Fresh truffles will be sent during this time period and we will reach out to you in advance to determine which delivery date will work best for you. For international orders this will have to tie into international freight options. 

Returns may be required for a refund or credit to be provided. The cost of the return will have to be born by the purchaser. Please contact us immediately upon receiving your product if you are unsatisfied to discuss options as photos of damaged product may be required.
